The Competence Center for Innovative Procurement (KOINNO) is a funding project that is carried out by the Association Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
The promotion of innovations in public procurement is an important element of the economic and energy policy of the Federal Republic of Germany. On the one hand the Competence Center for Innovative Procurement advises procurement offices on the organizational restructuring (e.g. towards central and strategic purchasing) and on the other hand in the acquisition of new (innovative) products, services and system solutions.
The aim of the competence center is to permanently strengthen the innovation orientation of public procurement in Germany and to increase the proportion of innovation procurement in the total volume of public procurement in Germany.
