As part of the Federal Government's program of measures “Sustainability”, the Competence Center for Sustainable Procurement (KNB) was set up in 2011 at the Procurement Office in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI).
The primary task of the KNB for sustainable procurement is the targeted information, training and education of public clients in relation to sustainable public procurement.
The KNB is therefore the central contact point for all federal ministries, federal states, municipalities and other public procurement offices.
